Covenant  House  Honors  Kiwanis Club of AP  for Selfless Support

The Kiwanis Club of AP has a special relationship with Covenant House.  “Their focus aligns closely with ours – offering a safe haven to youth facing homelessness and human trafficking,” said Steve Everk, President of the AP Kiwanis Club.   “By the end of this year, volunteer hours will surpass 250 and financial donations will exceed $2,000,” concluded Everk.

“The Kiwanis Club has been key to supporting Covenant House’s Rights of Passage (ROP) Program,” said Stephanie Williams, Service Manager, Covenant House.  The ROP Program provides a safe living and learning environment for youth ages 18 – 21.

“Club member Karen Harrington tirelessly performs and coordinates all services provided by the Kiwanis Club,” added Ms. Williams.  Managing timely bedroom turnover for the ROP Program includes a welcoming coat of paint, new bedding and a restroom refresh.

If You Don't Believe Us ...

The EAT HERE NOW "coupon adventures" are still underway for Maria and her husband.  Building on their fun about town from 2023, they already enjoyed a yummy meal at Pascal & Sabine, thanks to an EAT HERE NOW 2024 coupon.

"We were at the Mother's Day Fair in Convention Hall at lunch time. We opened our EAT HERE NOW '23 coupon booklet for options and there was a Seahorse coupon, which made our decision easy."

Proud to Serve the Community!

Our Club finds making a difference is rewarding and fun!  While we run many of our own fundraisers, we extend our impact by partnering with others, including:

  • Covenant House

  • Mercy Center

  • Little League

  • Bridge of Books Foundation

  • Asbury Book Cooperative

All of our partnerships are incredibly valuable.  We share concerns such as literacy and education, food and clothing insecurities and leadership development.
