Inspired By Every Child

Service is at the heart of every Kiwanis Club, no matter where it’s located. Members stage around 150,000 service projects and raise nearly $100 million every year for communities, families and projects. Working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone.  Check out our rich history.

What differentiates Kiwanis from numerous organizations is our involvement in youth, encouraging them to participate in civil service with our service leadership programs: K-Kids; Builder’s Club (middle-school aged students); Key Club (high school); and Circle K (college level).  Read more about What We Do with key partners.

Our Proud Story

Kiwanis was first established in Asbury Park in 1921, and made lasting impacts in this ever-changing community, including establishing the Kiwanis Boys Club of Asbury Park now formed and known today as the Monmouth County Boys & Girls Club. The club's membership declined with the fall of the town in the early 2000s, but the revival has sparked the need for this group.

Despite a global pandemic and a world turned virtual, Kiwanis of Asbury Park successfully rechartered in October of 2020. In this short period of time, we have made a positive impact on the greater Asbury Park community, which include addressing food and clothing insecurities, spotlighting general health and safety, supporting LGBTQ+ youth, keeping holiday spirits alive and raising literacy awareness in the community.

These projects and campaigns were made possible because of a supportive community and collaborative work with many established organizations. We found people want to give back to this community, and simply need a call-to-action to do so.   See our full story.
